However, there are also a number of Mandalorian colonies and outposts scattered through the galaxy, with one of the more notorious ones being Concord Dawn, whose Protectors have long been enemies of the Death Watch. Since the Clone Wars, Mandalore has been under the rule of the Galactic Empire, with an academy being established there to train Mandalorian recruits such as Sabine and Ketsu Onyo. It was subsequently drawn into the conflict, with the Siege of Mandalore being the last battle in which Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze fought together. Maul briefly ruled over the planet after seizing it with the help of the Death Watch, only to be deposed by Darth Sidious.
During the Clone Wars, it was ruled over by the pacifistic Duchess Satine Kryze, until her death at the hands of the fallen Sith Lord, Darth Maul. For centuries the people of Mandalore have had a warrior culture, warring amongst themselves and with enemies such as the Jedi Order.
